Our fibre packages are month to month and you are not locked into lengthy contracts*.
While all steps are taken to try to avoid contention or limiting the service, Octotel can force contention of up to 10:1 should that be required for network stability. This means that during these times you will temporarily be limited to 1/10th of the listed speed until the network stabilises.
Yes, The Octotel Network is built to withstand most load shedding stages, but you still need to power the router & ONT at your house with an inverter or mini UPS for your connection to work. An 8800mah Mini Router UPS can usually power the equipment for up to 4 hours depending on to power consumption of your router. If you don’t have one, you can order a mini UPS from our client portal.
If the Octotel equipment is already on site, activation can take place within 1 to 2 Working Days. If there is no equipment on site you will need to allow up to 1 weeks for installation.
Unless otherwise stated, eg 24 Month Pricing, we do not impose any minimum period, however you must give a full calendar month notice period to stop the contract. If your service is active less than 12 Months we may ask you to cover the cost to return the router and settle the outstanding portion of the installation fees, if we paid any on your behalf.
No, the Octotel ONT & the line are linked to a location and a new installation would need to be ordered, if there is Octotel Coverage for the new house and any contract periods would start again from the beginning.
As an internet provider we may have paid some costs on your behalf such as installation to the Fibre Network or to supply you with equipment such as a router. We reserve the right to claim these back from you should you cancel the service within the specified clawback period if there is no promotion running.
Octotel requires a full month’s notice for cancellation. Processing can take up to a business day, so please let us know by the last business day of the month before you want to cancel. For example, if you want to cancel by 31 May, give us notice by 30 April during business hours to ensure it’s processed on time. If you don’t, you may be liable for an additional month until the full month has passed.
A free-to-use router means that we supply you with a Wi-Fi enabled router, which is used to connect you to the internet for your time as a customer of ours. You are, however, responsible for insuring and safeguarding the router from damage, and must cover the cost to return the router to us (in original condition) should you terminate your services in less than 12 months. After 12 months, we will collect it from you for free.
Unless you are in a promotional contract, you may change your fibre package at any time. Promotional package changes are governed by their Specific Terms and Conditions.
Fibre upgrades will require payment of the difference between the new package and the old package. There are no additional fees for upgrading.
Fibre downgrades only take effect from the end of the month and may be subject to a regrade fee as quoted by Octotel and may change without notice. Certain packages may not be downgraded too, such as the limited edition 25Mbps package.
